The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to provide this opportunity for others to experience in a small way what those of us who live, prosper, and play in Xenia, Ohio already know - that we are fortunate indeed to be part of this community!

Xenia boasts of beautiful parks, a network of hiking and biking trails that has been nationally recognized, a superb fully-accredited hospital, a forward-thinking public school system in addition to a number of private schools, twenty colleges and universities within a 30 mile radius, modern shopping facilities, a diversified business base, a wide range of housing choices, and the small-town atmosphere that exemplifies its name, Xenia - Greek for Hospitality.  Xenia is proud of its diversity and the fact that 15% of its citizens are multicultural.

The city, with its surrounding Xenia Township, is a progressive, diversified, medium-sized area with a population of over 34,000.  It is uniquely located at the center of a “transportation triangle” created by Interstate Highways I-75, I-71 and I-70 that makes a broad range of employment, recreation and cultural sites in southwest Ohio accessible within an hour or less.  Dayton is 15 miles west, and Columbus and Cincinnati are both within an hour’s drive.

Founded the same year Ohio became a state and Greene County was established, Xenia celebrated its bicentennial in 2003.  Its history embraces that of the Shawnee Nation, the traditional values of its agricultural heritage, the Underground Railroad, the monolithic railroad system that provided transportation that nourished our nation’s growth as well as Xenia’s own, and the industry and technology inspired by the proximity of the Wright Brothers and Charles Kettering.
