Xenia, OH and Greene County Trails

Xenia serves as the hub of four trails that intersect at Xenia Station, the site of the old railroad switching yard.  The Little Miami Scenic Trail is an 80-mile, paved multi-purpose path that winds through the Little Miami Valley of southwest Ohio.  It follows the route of the legendary Little Miami Railroad right-of-way.

The Xenia Station Hub is the centerpiece of the park-like redevelopment of the switching yards where these trails all converge.  The building is an authentic reproduction and located on the site of the original 19th century telegraph building serving the railroads.

Xenia’s commitment to providing convenient and safe trails for recreation and alternative transportation has earned the community national acclaim.  Whether it's bicycling, hiking, sakating, or just enjoying a leisurely walk, Xenia is the perfect location.  In 1996, Xenia was named the "5th best place in the nation to live" by the American Hiking Society and inducted into the Trail Town USA Hall of Fame.  The Xenia Area Chamber of Commerce and the Greene County Convention and Visitors Bureau host an annual 4-day trail tour called the Greene Trails Cycling Classic.

The United States EPA named Xenia as a winner of EPA’s Transportation Partners Award in the category of Community Design. Xenia is one of nine programs nationally honored for "Having undertaken the risks of innovation and have enhanced their community and the environment through transportation improvements."
