XCSF Board of Directors Endorses XCS Bond Issue on November Ballot

The Board of Directors of the Xenia Community School Foundation is announcing its support for the school construction bond issue. Passage of Issue 24 will generate the $36 million needed to construct a new safe, modern learning environment which will operate more efficiently and reduce costs. The new school will replace the current Warner Middle School on the same site. The existing Warner Middle School will remain operational during construction of the new building. Now is the time to pass this 2.6 mill levy while construction costs and bond rates are low, resulting in cost savings for the district and the taxpayers. The new building will create safe, secure spaces for 6-8 grade students similar in design and technology to the existing K-5 buildings.

“Providing a quality education, as well as safe and modern facilities for our children is of upmost importance for both the students and the strength and well-being of our community,” said XCSF Board President Steve Brodsky. The XCSF Board unanimously voted to endorse the passage of Issue 24 on November 3, 2020.

“We have already seen the difference new buildings can make as a result of the new elementary school buildings. Providing modern facilities for our middle school students will benefit not only our students, but the community as a whole,” Brodsky said.

The proposed project is the outcome of two years of community engagement and input. The campaign is being led by Citizens for Continued Excellence.
