CENTRAL STATE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION LAUNCHES “A STEP UP” JOB TRAINING PROGRAM

Spotty work history or some other barrier holding you back from growing in a career with a good business? You aren’t alone, and you may have options. Central State University Extension’s Community & Economic Development Team has launched A Step Up, a program designed to assist both employers and those seeking employment.

A Step Up provides job training skills directly related to employment opportunities in order to boost participants’ chances at securing a great new job. A Step Up was launched in March in close partnership with Miami Valley Works, a family owned, full-service, cleaning and maintenance company. The program was conducted in a small group cohort, providing training for general office cleaning and life skills including budgeting, communication and problem-solving. Participants earned specialized certifications from a leading supply manufacturer. Job placement assistance was offered, resulting in employment for every graduate that wanted a job.

A Step Up partners with local businesses seeking to hire and Ohio residents seeking training and employment opportunities.
